Greeting and Salutations Music Lovers!

This week, I wanted to start something new and fresh on the Morning Calm Studios Page. If all starts with the new degree pursuit: Music Production Bachelors of Science with Full Sail University. That's right! This is my 4th Degree!

So for this post, lets focus on the awesome new opportunity in commercial music: The Que Library. So here's the question: How do shows find all of that music that ends up in our favorite "Reality" (Unscripted) TV Shows? Its simple. Its the Que Library industry.

Take one part music deconstruction, one part multi-instrumental musicians, one part MIDI and sound design skill, and one part project management and you'll have what it takes to build these libraries.

For me, it starts with a theme. A short ditty if you will... Add a pad layer, a second theme, another lead part, a rhythm that repeats, a percussion instrument, another percussion instrument, some sound effects, etc! The possibilities are endless!

But here is where the rubber meets the road for me. I feel that after this 4-week class, I have found what I was meant to do with my life! I spent years deconstructing music. All of my favorite songs and artists have has some level of "peeling back the layers" on what makes their songs tick. From what guitars they used, to synth patches, to how they stacked the vocals, it all was interesting to me. With a que library, its almost an identical process only its my music. This time, its what I'm hearing my head mixed with lots of experimentation.

This is what my future will ultimately look like as a musician. Sure there are other areas that I will continue to improve but I'm setting a goal of 3 new songs a week. With a little hard work and perseverance, expect to hear some more track from me! Cheers!
